Welcome to Hotel Torgglhof in Kaltern on the Wine Road – your four-star hotel surrounded by vineyards with views of Lake Kaltern. Family-run by the Oberberger family for decades, our hotel combines traditional South Tyrolean charm with modern design and wellness comfort.

Arrival & Departure
From what time is check-in possible?

Check-in is available from 2:30 pm. Upon request, you may enjoy our breakfast buffet (7:30–10:30 am) earlier for €20 per person.
If your room is ready before 2:30 pm, early check-in is possible. Otherwise, you are welcome to use our bistro and wellness area.
This way, you can start your stay flexibly and comfortably.

Until what time is check-in possible?

Our reception is staffed daily until 10:30 pm. If you arrive after 6:00 pm, please inform us in advance.

By what time must the room be vacated on the day of departure?

Check-out is from 7:00 am to 11:00 am. Please vacate your room by 11:00 am and return your room key at reception.
If you depart very early, we will gladly prepare a takeaway breakfast for you, which can be ordered the day before at reception and collected from the bistro.

Is late check-out possible?

Check-out is no later than 11:00 am. Upon request, you may use our wellness area free of charge until 2:00 pm. After that, you can continue using the wellness area for the rest of the day for a small surcharge of €20 per person.
Public showers and toilets will be available, allowing you to end your stay in a relaxed and flexible way.

Hotel Opening Hours
What are the wellness area opening hours?

The heated indoor and outdoor pool (31°C) as well as the outdoor saltwater pool are open from 7:00 am to 8:30 pm.
The whirlpool (33°C) is available from 10:00 am to 8:30 pm.
The saunas (45°C | 65°C | 85°C) are officially open from 3:00 pm to 8:30 pm – earlier use is possible upon request.

How long is the reception staffed?

Our reception is generally staffed from 7:00 am to 11:00 pm and is happy to assist you at any time.

Rooms & Hotel Facilities
How modern are the rooms and the hotel?

The hotel was renovated and expanded in 2018. The new rooms are modern, stylish, well-equipped, and are refreshed annually to ensure they remain up to date and fully functional. The wellness and bistro areas are also modern yet cozy.

Are single rooms available?

Single occupancy rooms are available upon request.

Are allergy-friendly pillows available?

Yes, all rooms are equipped with allergy-friendly pillows without down or feathers.

What amenities and inclusive services are provided in the room? What should I bring?

Rooms include towels, hairdryer, bathrobe, slippers, bed linen, and a small refrigerator – everything you need for your stay. Upon request, we can also provide kettles, irons with ironing boards, or additional amenities.

Are there any smoking restrictions?

Smoking is only permitted in outdoor areas.

Can I store personal items in the refrigerator?

Yes, each room has a minibar that you may use for personal items. If space is insufficient or items need to be frozen, we are happy to store them for you.

How firm are the mattresses?

Our mattresses have one softer and one firmer side. Upon request, we are happy to flip your mattress to ensure optimal sleeping comfort.

How does a room change work?

We will inform you in advance if a room change is necessary. To keep things simple for you, we will gladly move your luggage to the new room so you can enjoy your day without interruption.

Where can I get a bathrobe?

Bathrobes are provided in your room upon arrival. Please note that our bathrobes are available only in one large size and are therefore not suitable for children.

Are towels available in the wellness area?

Yes, wellness towels are provided in your room upon arrival. For environmental reasons, we do not offer fresh towels in the wellness area itself. Used towels are replaced automatically when placed on the bathroom floor, or you can request fresh towels at reception at any time.

Can I invite friends or family to the wellness area, breakfast, or dinner?

Yes, of course! External guests, friends, and relatives of our hotel guests are warmly welcome upon request.

Transportation
Does the hotel have its own parking?

Yes, free parking is available directly in front of the hotel. Four spaces are reserved for electric vehicles.

Can electric cars be charged? How does this work?

With advance notice, electric vehicles can be charged overnight.
We have four parking spaces with charging stations. Simply connect your own charging cable to your car in the evening, and we will take care of the rest.
By the next morning, your car will be fully charged and ready for the day.
The current cost for charging is €0.60 per kWh.

How can I reach the hotel by public transport and stay mobile during my stay?

Upon arrival, you will receive a digital Guest Pass, which allows you to use buses, trains, and certain cable cars free of charge throughout your stay. If you arrive by public transport, we can send you the Guest Pass on the morning of your arrival upon request, so you can use it immediately.
Our hotel is well connected to the public transport network. Please note that it is about a 10-minute walk from the nearest bus stop to the hotel.

Where can I store my bicycle?

A secure, covered bike room is available. Please note that bicycles cannot be stored in guest rooms.

Can I take my bicycle to my room?

For safety and space reasons, bicycles are not permitted in guest rooms. Please use our secure bike storage area.

Can I rent bicycles at the hotel?

Yes, we are happy to provide bicycles. Our city bikes are available free of charge. We also offer e-mountain bikes for a daily surcharge. As availability is limited, we recommend reserving in advance.

Can I store my bike rack in the bike room?

Unfortunately, there is not enough space in the bike room for bike racks. If you remove your rack from your car, you may store it on our parking lot.

Do you have maps of cycling routes?

Yes, we provide various guides and tour planners. Our reception team will also be happy to help you select suitable cycling routes for your excursions.

Does the hotel offer a taxi service? If so, how can it be used?

We are happy to arrange a local taxi for you upon request (for an additional charge).

Dining
What are the bistro opening hours?

The rich breakfast buffet is available daily from 7:30 am to 10:30 am.
Our bistro welcomes you from 7:30 am to 10:30 pm for cocktails and drinks.
Snacks and sweet treats are served from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm you can enjoy dishes from our daily changing evening menu.

What is offered in the bistro?

At our in-house Panorama.Wine.Bistro, we serve small, fine dishes from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm. In the evening, you can enjoy a daily changing menu with a soup or antipasti, a primo (pasta or rice dish), and a secondo (fish or meat dish).
This allows you to enjoy dinner with us without needing to book a fixed menu in advance.
If you would like some variety, the charming village center of Kaltern is just a 10–15 minute walk away, offering numerous restaurants, inns, and traditional “Törggele” cellars with a wide selection of regional and international specialties.
This way, you can always remain flexible – just as it best suits your stay.

Is a reservation required for dinner?

A reservation is not required. However, we appreciate it if you let us know briefly if you plan to dine with us.

Do you offer half board?

We deliberately do not offer classic half board or full board, as we want our guests to remain flexible and experience the culinary diversity in and around Kaltern at their own pace.

How should guests inform you about food intolerances?

We are happy to accommodate food intolerances and special dietary needs, such as lactose or gluten intolerance.
Please inform us in advance when booking so we can best meet your needs.

Lactose intolerance

We offer lactose-free products: lactose-free butter, yogurt, and milk (oat, lactose-free, soy) are available at the breakfast buffet, so you can enjoy your meals comfortably.

Gluten intolerance

Please note that we cannot guarantee that our homemade cakes and breakfast buffet are 100% gluten-free, as we do not have separate facilities for complete separation. For guests who require gluten-free products, we provide packaged muesli, rusks, and cookies from the brand Schär.

Vegetarian & vegan options

We also cater to vegetarian and vegan guests, offering, among other things, fresh salads, vegan soups, and pasta.

Are there good dining options nearby?

Yes! There are many excellent restaurants in Kaltern and the surrounding area. Some even offer exclusive discounts for our guests. We are happy to make reservations for you upon request. You can also ask at reception at any time – we will gladly help you choose the right restaurant!

Do you offer special wines for wine lovers?

Absolutely! In our bistro, we offer exclusively carefully selected wines from Kaltern. From fruity white wines to full-bodied red wines, our wide selection of local wines offers something for every taste. You can also purchase these wines directly from us to enjoy the unique flavors of Kaltern at home – perfect for making dinners or cozy moments truly special.

Booking Conditions & Payment
When is a booking considered confirmed?

A booking is valid once we receive your written reservation and the hotel has sent a confirmation, provided that the deposit of 30% of the total amount is received by the payment deadline. Offers from our side are always non-binding.

Can specific room numbers or floors be requested? How are these requests handled?

We cannot guarantee specific room numbers or floors. However, please feel free to inform us of your preferences in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate them.
All room images shown are examples. The layout and design of rooms and suites may vary slightly.

In which currency are prices listed and what is included?

All prices are in euros, per person per day, including VAT and breakfast.

Is there a local tourist tax and who is exempt?

A local tourist tax of €3.00 per person per day applies. Children under 14 years of age are exempt.

Are there any special features regarding dynamic daily pricing?

Booking early pays off! Due to dynamic daily rates, early bookings are advantageous, as prices vary depending on occupancy and season.

What are the cancellation policies?

Our cancellation conditions:

  • Up to 30 days before arrival – free cancellation
  • 14 to 30 days before arrival – 30% of the total amount
  • 7 to 14 days before arrival – 50% of the total amount
  • 1 to 4 days before arrival – 70% of the total amount

In case of later cancellation, no-show, or early departure – 100% of the total amount

How must cancellations be made?

Cancellations must be made in writing.

Is a deposit required? How much and how can it be paid?

A deposit of 30% can be paid in advance via bank transfer.

What payment methods are accepted?

Debit card or credit cards (EC card, VISA, MasterCard) as well as cash payments in euros (up to €4,999.00) are accepted. Bank transfers are also welcome.

Children & Dogs
How are children accommodated in their parents’ room or with two full-paying adults?

Child discounts in the parents’ room or with two full-paying adults are as follows:

  • Children up to 0.99 years: €15 (including baby cot)
  • Children up to 3.99 years: 80% discount
  • Children up to 13.99 years: 50% discount

Children from 14 years: 30% discount

Are high chairs available?

Yes, high chairs are available in the bistro.

Is there an age restriction for the sauna?

The sauna is officially open to guests aged 16 and over to ensure safety and tranquility for all guests.
However, we believe parents should decide at what age their children may use the sauna and trust in their responsibility.
As we do not have a children’s pool, parental supervision is strictly required throughout the wellness area.

Are dogs allowed? If so, under what conditions?

Your four-legged family member is very welcome with prior notice and will be charged €15 per day (without food). Please observe the following rules:

  • Please bring your own dog blanket or bed; food is not included.
  • Dogs must be kept on a leash on the hotel grounds.
  • Dogs are not allowed on the sunbathing lawn or in the pool area.
  • Dogs are not permitted in the breakfast, bar, or terrace areas.
  • Dogs are not allowed on beds or sofas.

Just a few meters from the hotel begins a vineyard path, ideal for walking your dog.

Is there a way to have clothes cleaned nearby?

Unfortunately, there is no washing machine available in the hotel. However, there are several laundries in Kaltern and the surrounding area that you can use.

Can I order flowers through the hotel?

Yes! With advance notice, we are happy to arrange a beautiful bouquet for a special occasion to delight your loved ones.
Our flower shop in Kaltern offers bouquets in various sizes and price ranges, tailored to your wishes.

Can I book a massage?

Yes! We work with an external massage therapist who offers various massages upon request. Massages take place next to our wellness area in a cozy external room. All massage offers and important information can be found on our website. Please note that only one massage can take place at a time.

Do you issue vouchers?
